December Rose’s artistic signature, melancholic, reflective, and empowering is just the tip of the iceberg for the award-winning Montrealer. She depicts authenticity and diversity through her carefully crafted songs, aimed at giving listeners and abused survivors a voice, and comfort. December Rose has been working on her craft since she was a child. In addition to over 15 years of formal musical/vocal training and a degree in classical voice performance, she is also an experienced and self-taught songwriter.
She leverages these lessons to continually elevate the bounds of her melodic voice as well as the voices of others. December Rose’s extensive studies have helped her develop a system and pathway to assisting others as a private vocal coach—a role she has taken on for 10 years now. Her curiosity to live a healthy life as an artist led her to studying and graduating as a Naturopath. She recently founded December Rose Studios, which aims to coach and mentor other singers and artists with protocols to serve and preserve their voice.
December received the New Music Weekly’s Top 40 Artist of the Year award for her single, “Raise Your Voice”, sitting on ballots alongside Billie Eilish, Shawn Mendes, and Lewis Capaldi. She also received the Hollywood Music in Media Award 2021 for her song, “Apple Tree. Her latest LP, “Raise Your Voice,” had several charting singles on US radio, and the project ranked on iTunes Top 200 Canadian Pop album releases.
She admires industry greats like Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Amy Winehouse, and Rachel Platten for the honesty, strength, and emotional deliveries they give listeners. We can hear that influence in her latest release ‘Best Is Yet To Come’.
